Tropical Storm Fung-wong (Mario) near Taiwan - Update 1 (9/21/14)

Tropical Storm Fung-wong (Philippine name Mario) is intensifying on its final approach to Taiwan, which it is expected to move over in the next 6-12 hours or less. The storm is expected to gradually weaken over the island, but could still cause damaging winds alongside heavy rainfall which could lead to flooding and mudslides. The storm still has influence over the northernmost Philippines, where five have already been killed with seven more injured and one missing. Fung-wong is the 58th storm of the year worldwide.
