Professional Photographer & Adobe Certified Lightroom & Photoshop Expert Geoff Cable of the GC2 Photo Club takes you through what effect white balance has on your photographs, and how you can adjust it using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop software, including using the RAW panel.
Different light sources will give you sifferent white balance results in your photos. Different times of day, such as midday, dawn or sunset, will also give you different results.
The auto white balance in camera is very good, however it can sometimes be fooled by varying lighting situations.
Shooting in RAW helps a lot when adjusting white balance, shooting in JPEG is OK, however there are far fewer options available to you as your camera would already have rendered the white balance for you.
