ISLAMABAD: Senator and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said it an unconstitutional and illegal demand to seek prime minister’s resignation by bringing a few thousand people to the streets, ARY News reported.

“PTI gave us their first charter of demands of August 30 comprising six points. Of them the government accepted five demands of the PTI,” he told the joint sitting of the parliament here.

Defeat is imminent for the protesters, said the minister. He said the language used by the protesting leaders – Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri – was unreasonable.

The minister said the country’s economy was suffering badly in the wake of sit-ins. The government wants to resolve the prevailing political impasse through talks, he added.

He told that committee for electoral reforms was already working and its report would soon be presented in the parliament.
