Fast food workers in America hold the latest of the their mass, social-media organised protests on Thursday in their continued bid for a 15$, or 11.43 euros per hour minimum wage. Home care workers are expected to join in solidarity in walkouts at more than 100 cities.

Across America cities are busy raising minimum wage laws, and ahead of mid-term elections Democrats are pressing for federal raises. President Barack Obama has said that with signs the economy is rebounding, he will press Congress to respond favourably and agree to federal wage rises.
