Gaza battered by another night of Israeli airstrikes

Israel has carried out at least 30 airstrikes in Gaza overnight, according to the Israeli military.

At least three people were killed at a farm.

In another airstrike at least 40 people were wounded when one of the strikes hit a house in Gaza City, according to a medical official at the city’s Shifa hospital.

The Israeli military has claimed its strikes targeted concealed rocket launchers and weapons sites. Earlier automated phone messages warned residents to “get away immediately from areas where Hamas conducts terror activities.”

With no end in sight to the conflict, a senior British diplomat proposed on Friday that the UK, France and Germany create a monitoring and verification mechanism for any future ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to prevent future conflicts.
