Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska and vice-presidential candidate, recently received a speeding ticket and decided to accept it with a humorous outlook.

She said, “I wasn’t speeding, I was qualifying.”

Palin also pointed out that she was listening to Sammy Hagar’s ‘I Can’t Drive 55’ at the time, so can’t be held fully responsible.

The ticket was issued in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska, which is located about 35 miles outside of Anchorage.

It’s also situated on the highway to Fairbanks and is well known locally as a speed trap.

Palin isn’t contesting the ticket in anyway and plans to pay the 151-dollar fine immediately.

She was, in fact, speeding, trap or not, and was clocked at travelling over 60 miles per hour in a zone with a speed limit of 45.

It’s unclear where she was headed in such a hurry, but Palin has kept herself quite busy over the years.

She’s been active on the lecture circuit and has been a frequent guest commentator for Fox News.

Palin also recently played herself in a skit featured on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’.
