Paul Budden (Cork MT) vs Allan Strachan (Aberdeen MT)

The final bout of The Ballroom Blitz 2 was an 'A Class Ireland vs Scotland battle between Paul Budden (Cork Mt) vs Allan Strachan (Aberdeen MT). The word "war" gets thrown around a lot when describing fights, but in this case it just doesn't do the bout justice...this was 5 bone-crunching rounds of combat between two absolute iron-men, both finishing the fight battered and bloodied to a standing ovation from the thrilled crowd. This would be the kind of fight you'd expect to see at the end of a Hollyoood movie, delivering everything you could hope to get from a Main Event, thunderous punches, savage elbows, lightning-quick teeps, killer knees and pounding body kicks. Both fighters would hit the canvas numerous times after taking heavy hits, both would shrug off devastating head shots as they battered away at one another, displaying not only physical toughness but also the mental toughness and perseverance required at 'A Class. At times both guys must have felt like they were battling a brick wall, yet neither gave way as they fought relentlessly to the end of Round 5. An overjoyed Allan Strachan would take the win, however both fighters deserved the roar of applause after closing the show with an electrifying demonstration of top-level Muay Thai action.
