The 80-officer team has racked up 20 thousand likes on their Facebook page and it seems to be partly because of a duck...a stuffed one to be precise. The duck is the type you’d see in beach houses.

It’s chubby, colorful and perches on a slab of wood. The officers pose their little buddy, which was rescued from a trash compactor and stuffed by a taxidermist, in all sorts of places like in patrol cars, on desks and resting comfortably in cops’ arms.

Given that ducks and geese in general are bundles of cuteness with their signature quacks and waddles, it’s really not a mystery why the so-called ‘Duck of Justice’ is a huge hit on Facebook.

17-year veteran, Sgt. Tim Cotton came up with the idea to recruit the duck. He remarked “I happen to believe that police officers are a pretty humorous bunch. I want to read something that at least has some humorous undertones.”
