‘Rollin’ Coal’ Trend Confuses And Angers Many

Some diesel truck drivers across America have taken to spewing black smoke from their trucks, a trend that both confuses and angers many. The practice is called ‘Rollin Coal’.

The coal rollers do it by first making illegal and expensive adjustment to their cars and then triggering the vehicle to emit thick clouds of dark, toxic exhaust.

While the mechanics involved are clear, the motivations are a bit cloudier.

One purpose seems to be the making of an anti-environmentalist statement. When the smoke is rigged to come out of the tailpipe it can completely engulf the car behind it.

Often times, the target cars are hybrids.

What the rollers hope to achieve with their actions is unclear.

Police cars are another common ‘rollin’ coal’ mark, in which case the practice seems to be some sort of statement against authority.

A bit more mystifying is when the objective is to blow smoke on pedestrians.

It would seem to be a diss, but one man shown on video footage blew a smoke cloud at some women apparently to increase his desirability.
