‘Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom’ just opened over the long fourth of July holiday weekend. The ride is currently the ‘tallest drop tower in the world’.

Thrill seekers have a new ride to get in line for at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. It’s called ‘Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom’ and it just opened over the long fourth of July holiday weekend.

Six Flags advertises the ride as the ‘tallest drop tower in the world’. It lifts riders 415 feet up in the air before sending them flying towards the ground at 90 miles per hour.

It takes about 30 seconds to transport passengers in one of three open-air, eight-person gondolas to the top of the tower with nothing below their feet. There is a pause to allow them to take in aerial views of the park.

Suddenly their vision gets blurred as the ride plummets downwards in a total freefall and reaches the bottom in 10 seconds. The tower is part of the park’s Kingda Ka ride whose trains thunder overhead at the same time. Guests who have experienced the latest ride are raving about it.

Park president John Fitzgerald remarked “It is on every adrenaline junkies' must-do list. Zumanjaro is precisely the type of world-class, record-breaking attraction that our guests have come to expect from Great Adventure."
