Dunya News - Imran Khan urges public to become part of 'Azaadi March' on Aug 14

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan urged the public on Wednesday to take to streets for ‘Azaadi March on August 14, saying that PTI will bring ‘real’ independence on that day. He said that change cannot come without electoral reforms, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a gathering of party officials in Lahore, Imran Khan said that PTI will bring real independence to the people on August 14, adding that he is fighting for the public and not for himself.
He said PTI raised voice for electoral reforms even in the parliament but saw no progress.
Talking about Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan, he said that the responsibility of affectees is also of the federal government, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would have braced for the operation if it knew about the operation beforehand.
He said provincial government is aiding the affectees despite the fact that it doesn’t have resources.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will become aware of the IDPs’ condition if he gets break from his business.
Addressing the gathering, PTI leaders Javed Hashmi and Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the change doesn’t come in a single day and that everyone has to unite and organize for it. They urged the supporters to take to streets and not to look back on August 14, saying this will be ‘final march.’
