26 years ago I became a parent to a beautiful baby girl. Back in those days children’s clothes were pretty boring. There were only the basics, nothing exciting. As a woman interested in fashion, I wanted groovy clothes for my child and there was NOTHING on the market. I was working in a fabric store at the time, and I was seeing these wonderful fabrics and imagining all the wonderful things I could create.
So I started making new outfits for Zoe every week, I was having a ball. Ladies were going crazy and saying how cool everything was, so I started selling them in the fabric store. As fast as I made them they flew out the door, so 5 years later I decided to go into business. I found my little shop on Colombo St and I have been sewing up a storm for the past 15 years. It has been a dream come true and I’m loving it more than ever. Seeing all the wee ones in their outfits gives me such a thrill and I’m so happy that it’s been a great success.
At Little Miss and Little Mister we produce top quality New Zealand made garments for newborns to 6 year olds. 15 years on, I am still creating new styles, new fabrics and new twists extending my range. I think keeping styles simple and easy-to-wear is crucial because it suits our busy kids best. So I plan to keep groovy gear coming season after season and I look forward to dressing your wee ones for the next 15 years !
