IRAQIS SAY #NO2ISIS
As fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria continue their vast offensive in northern Baghdad, a growing number of Iraqis living abroad are taking to the web, slamming the Jihadist attack and standing up for national unity under the #NO2ISIS hashtag.
Thousands of web users the world over have joined the social media campaign calling for an end to the violence in Iraq and voicing support for all those affected by the conflict. Many have taken to Twitter to denounce the atrocities committed by the Jihadist militants since the start of the offensive ten days ago.
The online movement against ISIS has also given rise to a selfie campaign. Here are some of the pictures doing the rounds on sharing sites. Men and women posing with signs or messages bearing the #NO2ISIS slogan.
So web users are openly voicing their opposition to the jihadist movement in Iraq, rejecting sectarianism and armed rebellion, they are also sharing their hopes, fears and concerns for the country under the #PrayForIraq hashtag.

Kenyan web users have been posting under the #BringBackOurKDFSoldiers hashtag demanding the Kenya Defense Forces soldiers deployed to Somalia in pursuit of al-Shabaab militants be brought back to Kenya to protect its people. The online campaign comes after fresh terrorist attacks in Kenya earlier on this week. While the hashtag is trending on social networks, some are voicing a different sentiment, saying the Kenyan army should continue its mission in Somalia to put an end to al-Shabaab activity once and for all.
