Ukraine says at least thirteen soldiers are dead after an attack by pro-Russian separatists in the east.

Video obtained by Reuters shows bodies being carried away on stretchers.

Authorities in the Donetsk region, where the attack took place, put the death toll at 16.

It is unclear if all the victims were soldiers, or also included separatists. They said 32 people were injured.

The attack fuels security concerns ahead of Ukraine's presidential election on Sunday.

Ukraine has called for an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council to discuss Moscow's role in the violence.
