Confusion over Afghan landslide dead

The number of homes swamped by the landslide in north-east Afghanistan is put at 300.
What varied widely two days after the disaster at Ab Barak is how many people died.
The United Nations Mission in Afghanistan said it was more than 350.
A spokesman for the local governor put the figure in excess of 2, 100.
The International Organization for Migration says 2, 700 are dead or missing.
Some survivors have been pulled from the thousands of tonnes of mud and debris.

"We found this injured child trapped under the mud. He's got head injuries. He's having treatment at the area health clinic and we've given him medication."
Rescuers have given up hope of finding anyone alive now beneath the sea of mud up to 100 metres deep in places.
