ON THE OCCASION OF DIPLOMATIC PRIZES CEREMONY H.E. OMER AHMED KARIM BERZINJI RECEIVES THE TITLE OF BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013

The Ambassador of Iraq-Omer Berzinji received in a public ceremony the title of BEST AMBASSADOR OR 2013 on March 19, 2014, on the ocassion of the annual edition of ROMANIAN DIPLOMATIC PRIZES EVENT.

The annual ceremony is a public homage to the main actors of Romanian diplomatic activity during 2013.

The public unveiling of the name of best diplomats, had enjoyed a record diplomatic presence with over 43 ambassadors and charge d`affair`s attending the event and more than 50 parliamentarians from Chamber of Deputies and Senate and government officials on the venue of the prizes.

The main core of the ceremony was the bestowing of BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013 recognition to H.E. Ambassador of Iraq- Omer Berzinji in sign of appreciation for his diplomatic efforts.

During the mandate of H.E. Ambassador Omer Berzinji the bilateral trade reach a pick of 400 million dollars, arrangement`s for establishing sister regions and cities between three regions of Romanian and Iraq where inked and six more are in preparation stages., the visit of ministry of foreign affairs of Iraq and of the head of international department of Kurdistan region and 55 years celebration of bilateral diplomatic relations between Romanian and Iraq were also highlighted as achievements in the report.

In the thunderous applause of the public, H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and Hon. Vice-President of the Senate Mr. Florin Constantinescu handed out to H.E.Omer Berzinji-Ambassador of Iraq the title of honor and academic prize of BEST AMBASSADOR FOR 2013, in sign of recognition and appreciation on behalf of the academic and parliamentary committee of IRICE.

In the final moments of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea had received on behalf of Parliament committee the HONORARY MEDAL OF ROMANIAN SENATE in sign of recognition and appreciation for his activity.

In the laudation speech, senator Florin Constantinescu stated that: to review the full activity of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea in the service of diplomacy will be an arduous task, so I will highlight only activities from the last year: the creation of Business Councils with Republics of Kazakhstan and Lao PDR, carving honorary consulates , recent visits to Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, Lao PDR, Kazakhstan and organizing more than 20 conferences, seminars, interviews, lectures and debates on major diplomatic events and discussions themes.

This is an impressive activity, that is making me proud to bestow to you, esteemed professor, the HONORARY MEDAL OF ROMANIAN SENATE concluded Senate Vice-President Florin Constantinescu.

The DIPLOMATIC PRIZES CEREMONY FOR 2013 marked an auspicious moment in the activity of diplomatic corps accredited to Romania, offering a clear signal that the activity of diplomatic corps accredited to Romania is watched with attention, benevolent and encouraging feelings and encouraged and that all the promotion and representation activities are appreciated to the highest level.
