At least eight people are killed as a car bomb explodes in Baghdad.
More than 26 others were wounded in the attack in Sadr City Wednesday-- a mostly Shi'ite neighborhood.
Now destroyed cars line the streets.
Violence is becoming all to familiar.
(SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) UMM MOHAMMED , RESIDENT OF AREA, SAYING :
"What can I tell you. You can see by your eyes. The Prime Minister has servants and guards and they are leading a comfortable life -- and we are the victims."
In March alone close to 600 Iraqis were killed in acts of violence according to the UN.
This comes ahead of parliamentary elections April 30th with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki seeking a third term .
