Yes, it’s true. Coca Cola is not only the world’s largest beverage company but in 1985, Coke became the first soft drink in space when it was tested by astronauts aboard the space shuttle Challenger.
The drink was created by Colonel John Pemberton who was wounded in the US Civil War. He became addicted to morphine, and started looking for a substitute for the opiate.
He came up with the formula for Coke at his Eagle Drug and Chemical House. Little did he know that it would go on to become the top-selling soft drink in the world, and would be little short of an addiction itself for its billions off fans all over the world.
