Soyuz docks with ISS after engine trouble delays arrival

Russia’s Soyuz spaceship has finally docked with the International Space Station.

Engine trouble delayed the arrival of the spacecraft carrying the two Russian cosmonauts and the American astronaut by two days.

Soyuz blasted off successfully
from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for the six-hour journey to the space station.

Prior to docking a 24-second engine burn necessary to adjust the orbiting path failed and a fresh flight path was adopted.

The craft arrived two days and two hours after it left earth.

Everyone on board is safe and well.
