Rediscovery of WBGU TV Artbeat Music Video 1983
In 1983 Bill Schurk of the BGSU Music Library made 20 "Soundie Films" from the 1940's available for my Artbeat show on WBGU TV. I produced five music videos from the film stock. Three are in poor condition in my archives. A fourth was permanently lost during Hurricane Sandy flooding. Today I spent the day at the BGSU Library going through Archives of WBGU Programming from the eighties. Late this afternoon I discovered the 3/4 inch tape of the show where Little Otis and The Upsetters appeared and this music film that ran at the same time the band played on air. A pristine take.
