You won't believe what this Chinese mother-to-be did to gain USA citizenship

Some people will try anything to become American citizens, including exploit their own unborn kids! A Beijing mom-to-be in her 20s decided she'd be better off having her child in America to take advantage of the US Constitution, which states "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." This basically means any kid born in the US is a US Citizen.

There are lots of mothers who try this sort of thing, with the goal of being able to stay in the US after the child is born to become naturalized citizens themselves, then start the conveyor belt to get the whole family across the borders. However in the case of this woman, it totally backfired.

She left Beijing for Seattle when she was around 7 months pregnant, giving her plenty of time on her 90 day visa for the baby to make his arrival under the banner of the Stars n' Stripes. However it seems mama needed a break from Seattle's sometimes gloomy weather.

Sometime last week, she boarded a plane bound for Mexico just for a quick few days of R&R and ended up going into very premature labor while she was there. It seems her little bundle of joy wanted to be Mexican more than anything.

So now while she's blessed with a premature but healthy baby boy, it would seem she'd better start learning those lullabies in Spanish, not English!
