Final Fantasy XI - Arrapago Remnants II Salvage THF Solo - Part 1 of 2.
The original plan was to do this as one video, but I ran into a problem mid-run. The second part will show the last two floors of a seperate run. (The Arcahaic Gears floor is easy, just farm all of it.)
Walkthrough
Required items/buffs: Sanction (increased meal duration), Remedy (4+), Red Curry Bun (1), Instant Protect & Shell (1k Bayld each from Peacekeepers Coalition), Reraise Earring and Oynos Knife (Haste).
Beginning - Take off all the restrictions you can. Strength, Vitality, Body and HP are welcome, but it is random everytime.
1st Floor: Kill 1-2 birds to unlock equipment. Kill Lamia. Flee to Leech, kill 1-2 Leech, kill Lamia. Check equipment to ensure you have all equipment. (Body will still be restricted unless you unlocked in the beginning).
Optional NM will drop Cotton Purses rarely, however if you are quick enough, you can kill all Optional NM and have time to farm all the Alexandrite mobs later.
2nd Floor - Optional NM #1. Kill Lamia x2 near where you zone in. This will spawn four Archaic Gears in the corridors to the next teleport. Kill all four of those to spawn Archaic Gear NM in the teleport room.
3rd Floor - Optional NM #2. Immediately check Wide Scan for Acrolith (it can spawn in one of the three eastern rooms), find it, pull it into a corridor as far away from the Qutrub as you can. They will blood aggro you if you drop to yellow HP, and their nukes hurt.
Optional NM #3. Run north, check wide scan for Archaic Gear. Killing this spawns Archaic Gear NM in the teleport room. Kill that and warp.
4th floor - Run north to the Flytraps. Try to only pull one and get DEX, AGI, MND unlocked. If it does not give you all, pull another. Run south west, past the Acroliths and into the Lamia room. Kill one Fatedealer to unlock VIT if you need it.
Optional NM #4. Kill all Fatedealer & Dartist (RNG) Lamia in the area, while trying to avoid Lamia Dancer & Graverobber (they will nuke you quite hard) to spawn Lamia Spoliator (RNG) NM. Spoliator will do an EES move around 30-50% so keep HP up.
**Can use your Red Curry Bun around this time.** On the video I forgot about it until I got to the 5th floor.
Optional NM #5. Kill the two Acrolith to spawn the bigger Acrolith NM. The smaller Acrolith can rarely drop a Cotton Coin Purse. NM guarantees Plans.
If you just want Alexandrite, you can skip all the previous NM, only unlocking your equipment/stats and teleporting soon as you have them.
5th Floor - The Alexandrite farming begins! Kill all the Archaic Gear. Single Gear might drop one Alexandrite or nothing at all. Store TP and (Full Attack!) one of the Ramparts in the big room. It will spawn the stronger Archaic Gears after a certain time. If you do not kill it fast enough, they will link with the Rampart and cause you trouble. It takes some practice to take on these. It helps to have Oynos Knife give you Haste before you do one of the
Once all four Ramparts and their Archaic Gears are defeated, you can teleport up to the sixth floor.
