Tangermünde ist eine Stadt an der Elbe im Süden des Landkreises Stendal im nördlichen Sachsen-Anhalt (Deutschland). Die Stadt ist 1000 Jahre alt. Die Burg (zuerst am 1009 erwähnt) wurde errichtet zum Schutz der Ostgrenze des Reiches gegen die auf der anderen Elbseite lebenden Slawen. Von 1373 bis 1378 war dort der Zweitsitz Karl IV, römisch - deutscher Kaiser. Sie gehörte der Hanse (Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts und Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts Vereinigungen Kaufleute) an und erlebte im 15. Jahrhundert eine wirtschaftliche Blütezeit. Sie war eine Zeitlang Sitz der Kurfürsten und Markgrafen aus dem Hause Hohenzollern.

Tangermünde is a city on the River Elbe in the south of the district of Stendal in northern Saxony-Anhalt (Germany). The city is 1000 years old. The castle (first mentioned in the 1009) was built to defend the eastern border of the empire against the Slavs, people living on the other side of the Elbe. From 1373 to 1378 there was the second seat Charles IV, emperor of the Roman-German empire. It was part of the Hanseatic League (mid-12th century and mid-17th century merchants' associations) and experienced in the 15th Century an economic boom. It was for a time the seat of the Elector and Margrave of the house of Hohenzollern.

Tangermünde é uma cidade às margens do rio Elba, no sul do distrito de Stendal, no norte da Saxônia-Anhalt (Alemanha). A cidade tem 1000 anos de idade. O castelo (mencionado pela primeira vez em 1009) foi construído para defender a fronteira oriental do império contra os eslavos, povos que viviam do outro lado do rio Elba. De 1373-1378 houve o segundo assento de Karl IV, imperador do império Romano- germânico. Ela fazia parte da Liga Hanseática (associações de comerciantes de meados do século 12 e meados do século 17) e experimentou no século 15 um boom econômico. Ela foi por algum tempo a sede da nobreza da casa de Hohenzollern.
