A 27-year-old man in Brooklyn, New York has been accused of an unimaginable crime. Rasel Siddiquee is now in jail, facing charges of murdering his own landlord.
A 27-year-old man in Brooklyn, New York has been accused of an unimaginable crime. Rasel Siddiquee is now in jail, facing charges of murdering his own landlord.
The victim, 57-year-old Mahuddin Mahmud was found in the basement of the building he owned. His head had been partially decapitated and his face was burned.
Traumatically, Mahmud’s brother was responsible for finding the body. According to reports, the victim’s office was in the same basement where he was brutally murdered.
Saddiquee allegedly arrived from Bangladesh several years ago and rented the basement apartment from the victim. According to the victim’s family, the pair could have been arguing over some paperwork for the suspect’s upcoming trip to Bangladesh.
Police apprehended Siddiquee at the JFK airport. Upon questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed to the killing.
He is now facing charges of ‘murder and criminal possession of a weapon’. Following news of the horrific murder, Mahmud was remembered as a loving and caring father and an admired businessman.
Originally from Bangladesh, the victim came to the U.S. with the simple goal of living the American dream.
