Apex Blues Climax Jazz Band 1978
In 1978 Kenny Davern was invited as a guest in one of the Peter Appleyard Jazz shows in Toronto, Canada. Peter did in a period of 3 years some 75 shows. Our Climax Jazz Band performed in a total of 6 shows.
In this clip Kenny plays a Jimmy Noone original, the Apex Blues.
Now 28 years later three members are still with the Climax Jazz Band and perform at Jazz Festivals all over the world. Jim Buchmann on reeds ( in this clip on alto) still plays as good if not better while Chris Daniels on bass and Jack Vincken on banjo still provide that unique solid background.
I left the band in 1996 to move to British Columbia.
