Middle School Student Suspended After Twerking

A student in Collier County, Florida has been suspended following a twerking incident.
Twerking…it’s the somewhat new and controversial trend involving a wannabe dancer moving their hips and shaking their backside. A student in Collier County, Florida has been suspended following a twerking incident.
The male sixth grader had placed his feet against the classroom wall while attempting to stand on his hands and do the booty shake. Unfortunately he lost his balance and his foot struck and ultimately set off the school fire alarm.
After that, things got chaotic. The local fire department was called to the scene and teachers were running around, panicked and baffled as to what had happened.
The student in question was soon suspended from the North Naples Middle School and shortly thereafter an announcement was made by the principal stating that twerking is banned on school property. However according to the district, the boy was suspended for another incident directly after his twerking moves went horribly wrong and the details surrounding it have not yet been released.
Nevertheless, from here on, any student who is caught doing any twerking movements will be punished by suspension. Most parents seem to be in favor of the ban, claiming that twerking is not only inappropriate at school but it’s just wrong in general.
