The Right To A Better Life: Danida's Pakistan Programme
In 2010, Denmark launched a three year development cooperation program with a total budget of USD 28 millhttp://www.dailymotion.com/video/x16wpoe_the-right-to-a-better-life-danida-s-pakistan-programme_newsion.The program reflects the strategic choices made by the Government of Denmark to support Pakistan in its democratic transition and taking account of the continued conflicts in the north-western border areas.
The Government of Denmark is now extending its support with a new development cooperation program, which will commence from 2013.Denmark will almost double its commitment from around USD 8 million annually to USD 14 million over the next three and half years as a continuation of the first program launched in 2010.
The overall objective of the new cooperation is to alleviate poverty through stabilization and peace building, improved livelihoods and service delivery, as well as through strengthened democratization, human rights and gender equality.
