Fresh off the back of her second trip to Nashville, TN, exciting things are happening for Brisbane-based singer songwriter Kimberley Bowden. During her recent two-month stint in Nashville, Kimberley wrote the final songs for her long-awaited forthcoming album, which she is slatted to record by mid this year.
A small town girl at heart hailing from Tully in far north Queensland, Kimberley felt right at home in the Nashville music scene and treated Tennessee locals to a dose of her amazing voice and quick stage wit at the Tomkins showcase. While she was Stateside, Kimberley also co-wrote with Preston Brust (Truck Yeah - Tim Mcgraw), Travis Meadows, Dianna Corcoran, Matt Scullion and Kim Richey.
On the home front Kimberley first came into the spotlight when she earned a grand final berth at 2008 Toyota Star Maker, Australia's most prestigious Country Music Talent search.
The following year she released her debut self-titled EP. Superb production by MATT FELL highlights Kimberley's stunning vocals and musical diversity. The EP also showcased Kimberly's songwriting talents, having co-written all five tracks with Felicity Urquhart, Sam Hawksley and the Jonah's Road team of Jay Collie and Jasper Somerville-Collie.
Kimberley's first radio single and opening track, 'Do I', is a powerful ballad of love lost and letting go, and achieved strong national airplay in 2009 and caught the attention of judges at various awards. Kimberley was a finalist in the country section of the Q Song Awards and was also selected as a Top 5 finalist for the Billy Thorpe Scholarship.
'Do I' also earned her a finalist place in the Rising Star female category at the 2009 Southern Stars -- Australian Independent Country Music Awards and it peaked at number five on the KixFM Country Top 20 Countdown.
