One family in India has been accused of living with the dead body of a woman for roughly 10 months. The troubling living situation came to light after a neighbor complained to local authorities about foul smell coming from the home.

The three relatives, who lived under the same roof in Nagercoil were sent to a hospital to be checked for potential infection. They were also scheduled for psychiatric tests.
The trio was reported to be the deceased woman’s mother, brother and son. The troubling living situation came to light after a neighbor complained to local authorities about a foul smell coming from the home.
Police arrived at the residence and found the body of a 56-year-old female. She was said to be horribly decomposed and her remains had been covered with a bed sheet.
The true date of death has not officially been released, but according to the family, the woman passed away on December 3rd, 2012.
Upon the discovery, police seized the body and a post mortem exam was scheduled. According to a law enforcement authority, the brother of the woman claimed he believed that if there was a body in the home, a ghost would not haunt them.
