Carly Jo is a 20 year old singer/songwriter and solo acoustic (pop/rock/country-pop) artist currently residing in South Florida. Although cliche', Carly Jo literally has been singing since before she could talk, but didn't take to the stage until she joined a Central Florida-based performing arts school in 2005. She started playing guitar in 2009, which opened up the world of songwriting and performing as a solo artist.
Her first EP, World at My Feet, released in November 2011, was written during an emotional period of her life and the five songs allow the listener to get a glimpse into her diary. After attending college at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, she came to grips with her own individuality, which is the basis of her new single, Wildflower, released in July 2012. She had the great fortune of recording the single with Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional) and his recording team Jonathan Clark and Benjamin Homola after she provided vocals on some projects they were recording. The music video for the song, released January 1, 2013, immediately created a buzz and is opening new doors.
Carly Jo has an engaging stage presence. She brings her sense of humor to her song introductions which allows an intimacy and closeness with the audience that is difficult for even more seasoned artists to achieve. It is an unexpected surprise to have this cute and quirky girl suddenly start belting a cover by Adele or her original soulful tunes. Carly Jo is a regular live performer with experience performing on larger stages at traditional music venues including Hard Rock Cafe, the former Cheyenne Saloon, Backbooth, The Social, West End Trading Company, and The Haven. She has performed at large festivals, but is equally as comfortable at more intimate coffee shops, restaurants, weddings and celebrations. While she headlines her own shows, she also enjoys opening for other artists and bands. In addition to guitar, she also plays ukulele, harmonica, and banjo. She performs as a soloist or with an acoustic drummer and is comfortable being supported by a full band.
