They claim the odor emanating from the factory is offensive and say it needs to stop, even if that means shutting the place down.

Cited are numerous complaints lodged with the city concerning adverse reactions people have experienced due to the smell that wafts through their neighborhood.

Among the specific problems reported are headaches and burning eyes.

Due to the strong aromas one family was reportedly forced to relocate a birthday party from outdoors to inside.

The company complied with the city’s demands when they were first presented, but has since begun to deny their validity.

They’re not alone in asserting the claims are specious. Not everyone who lives near the plant finds the smells overly strong or offensive. In fact, it’s been said they’re no more pungent that those coming from neighbors’ homes while they’re cooking.

If the city’s request for action is granted, the company may have to shut down its 200 million bottle per year production facility until the problem is rectified.
