Don’t ever underestimate a cat’s ability to survive the unimaginable. Recently, a cat near Wellington, New Zealand was shot in the head by a crossbow. Upon learning of the injury, the owners of the kitty, named Moo Moo rushed their pet to the Massey Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Veterinarians suspected Moo Moo would probably die and even if the cat managed to survive, he would have permanent brain damage. Amazingly neither of those things happened.

The arrow had not pierced the brain or caused any severe damages, as it entered the cat’s head above the eye, right across the cranium. Moo Moo's owner Donna Ferrari had first noticed him in the family backyard on a recent Monday afternoon.

After witnessing the rod protruding from his head, Ferrari tried to pick up Moo Moo, but he ran away, only to return to his yard a day later, where he rested under a bush. That’s when he was rushed to the vet.

Since the arrow was removed, he is back to purring and being happy once again. However the SPCA along with the local police department are looking for the culprit responsible for shooting Moo Moo.
