Coby Tftv992 Portable Digital Television Review

Product turned out to be a piece of crap, a waste of $104. Thankfully Amazon stood behind their reputation and service. They emailed me a return shipment label and issued an immediate refund. A real class organization! I live in SW Florida and purchased the TV to be able to stay abreast of news and weather during a power outage in a hurricane. The TV had ZERO reception with its built in antenna or the external antenna that came with it. Went out and bought the best set of rabbit ears that Radio Shack offered and still nothing. I even hooked it up to cable just to make sure it had a picture still nothing! I then called tech support at Coby and was told get this its not cable ready, even though "Cable" is on their menu and part of the setup instructions. He said they use the same menu and setup procedure on all their TVs, cable ready or not. This unit could only receive over the air signals and he admitted that it had a very weak receiver with a very short radius of signals it can pick up which in my case was zero, even though all four major networks transmit within 15 miles of me. http://garyadair.com/483042
