HORRIFIC NEGLECT: Pit Bull Dropped off at SPCA with Emaciated Body; Barely Able to Lift Head

The SPCA says it’s one of the worst animal abuse cases they’ve ever seen. A pit bull named Athena was dropped off at the local humane shelter, weighing 25 pounds, anemic, dehydrated and having hookworm and heartworm. The poor dog was so weak, she could barely lift her head. Medical care was given immediately to Athena. A vet tech decided to take Athena home and give her a good loving home. It’s only been a week but Athena has gained weight, walking and showing she still has some spunk left in her.
