Jeremy Loops is a musician from Cape Town, South Africa. Folk music is his primary influence, but his eclectic style, borrowing liberally from jazz, rock and hip hop, defies genre constraints. Live Jeremy is often called a one-man band, by creating songs using a loop pedal to layer up a variety of instruments. Guitars, harmonicas, banjos, beatboxing, singing, and frequent collaborators are mainstays of his shows, while rabid crowd participation take his performance to the next level.
At the 2013 MK Awards, Jeremy won solo artist of the year. He was also nominated for best live act too, having played jam packed slots at Splashy Fen, Oppikoppi, Rocking The Daisies, Bushfire and headlining a sold out Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert.
Where the awards highlight domestic achievement, the work happening in the background speaks to his camp's global ambitions and momentum. In May he will travel to LA to attend Musexpo, a music conference dubbed 'the United Nations of Music', where he's been invited to showcase his talent to 400 of the most powerful music executives and personalities on the planet. He is also hard at work on his debut full-length album, a follow up to 2011's self-titled EP.
No, Loops is not Jeremy's real surname. Yes, Jeremy has loved goats long before loving goats was cool and yes, the feather in his hat really does give him power.
