Top Afghan lawmaker: American forces give military aid to militants [PressTV]

A senior Afghan lawmaker has revealed that American forces are giving military aid to Taliban militants. Zalmai Zabuli says American helicopters delivered two shipments of small arms and heavy weapons to the militants in Mizan District in the southern Zabul Province. Zabuli, who's the head of the Complaints' Committee of the Afghan Senate, has warned that the continuation of such actions could trigger widespread Afghan uprisings against the U-S. Zabuli also accused Washington of double standards in Afghanistan, saying this attitude has strengthened the Taliban. He stressed that U-S military aid to the Taliban and its covert talks with the militants have raised serious doubts regarding the U-S goals in the war-torn country.
