Afghan militants set fire to Nato fuel tankers

Afghan militants have torched a Nato convoy of fuel tankers in Behsud district in eastern Afghanistan.

"There were 16 fuel tankers in the convoy, 14 of them have been burned and two others have escaped," an official said.

The convoy attack started when a group of gunmen rushed on the trucks in Behsud district of Nangarhar province - the same area on the edge of Jalalabad city where a group of would-be suicide bombers tried to storm a Nato base on Saturday.

There has been a series of attacks against Nato in recent days.

In two different incidents on Sunday, a series of bomb blasts killed a Nato service member and two civilians.

While three troops serving with the Nato-led force in Afghanistan were killed in a clash with insurgents in the east of the country, the coalition said, one of the worst daily tolls in a month.
