Honda Minako 本田美奈子. - Miagetegoran Yoruno Hoshiwo

This was my first favorite video. It was uploaded by Chachachayama in May 2009, but was removed by him due to copyright issues at that time. To me, it is the most beautiful of all the Honda Minako videos and nearly equaled by his "Impressions" video. This is the video that Chachachayama posted. It is not my video. Much of this video description is from that which Bonryujin (now brjmh/brjsilver) and I worked on, together, for his video in August 2011. Kyu Sakamoto sang this song in 1963 and it became very popular in Japan and elsewhere. Honda Minako made her debut on April 21, 1985. Less than four months later, on August 12, JAL Flight 123, a Boeing 747, crashed into the ridge of Mount Takamagahara in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, about 100 km from Tokyo. It was the worst single air crash in history. Among the 520 who perished was Kyu Sakamoto. Honda Minako died from leukemia on November 6, 2005 at the age of 38. When the "TOKI" (Time/When/Forever) recordings began, the objective was to produce two albums. "TOKI" was completed and released in November 2004; but, Minako became ill and the second album could not be completed as planned. The album was completed by the inclusion of several previously unreleased recorded pieces. This song is the opening track on her album, "Kokoro Wo Komete", meaning "With All My Heart", released after her death in 2006 on the Twenty-First Anniversary of her debut. It was her tribute to Kyo Sakamoto and all who perished. This year 2013 marks 28 years since the crash and the eighth year since her passing. May Kyu Sakamoto and Honda Minako and all who perished Rest In Peace.
