Kenya says most hostages in mall attack freed

Amateur video captures the terrifying scene inside Nairobi's upscale Westgate shopping mall where at least 68 people were killed by Somali al Shabaab Islamists .

Kenya's military says that most of the mall is under control, but that gunmen still appeared to be holding hostages captive.

(SOUNDBITE) KENYAN MILITARY SPOKESMAN, COLONEL CYRUS OGUNA, SAYING (OVER VARIOUS STILLS OF SOLDIERS AND PEOPLE OUTSIDE WESTGATE SHOPPING CENTER):

"Most of the hostages have been released and rescued, and the KDF (Kenya Defense Forces) have taken control of the entire building."

The siege has now entered its third day.

Officials have focused their attention on a large supermarket where an unspecified number of people were being held by guerrillas.
