About 40 employees were shocked to learn that the owners of A Hunt Club in Fort Collins, Colorado, were closing doors immediately with no prior notice.

Most people can sympathize with suddenly losing a job. About 40 employees were shocked to learn that the owners of A Hunt Club in Fort Collins, Colorado, were closing doors immediately.

The “’mini-family’ of bartenders, DJs, bouncers, dancers, and regulars” gathered at the town’s almost 25-year-old strip club to comfort each other and claim belongings.

Timberline Church plans to convert the building into a church. While one club owner first contacted Timberline a couple months ago, most sale details aren’t being disclosed.

Dancer Alexis Mitchell, said with tears, “It’s definitely something I love to do…feeling beautiful.”

The local chapter of Treasures Ministries, an organization connecting people working in the sex industry with church leaders, offered to help the women find work. One dancer asked, “Is it going to pay $60,000 a year to feed my family?”

Treasures has been delivering ‘pink goody bags’ to the dancers over the past months. The dancers didn’t appreciate being seen as a charity case, with one woman commenting “That just kind of adds insult to injury”.
