Learn about the Cuban laud and learn a traditional Punto Guajiro pattern.

Guajira is in the son family and is most identified with the song Guajira Guantanamera which itself is an adaptation of peasant music played in Guantanamo. For this reason the repeating pattern and minor variations are all similar and mainly the lyrics change.

This music is almost always played as a non-syncopated pattern in 1,4,5 that repeats and usually has a harmonic change using some substitution chords as a B section.

This was recorded at the Escuela Nacional de Artes in Havana Cuba, and features the basic pattern that would be played in guajira.
