'Tata' Martino says Puyol is the defender he is waiting for

Sant Joan Despí (Barcelona), Aug 17 (EFE).- F.C. Barcelona manager Gerardo "Tata" Martino confirmed that the club would not be signing a centre-back this summer and claimed that he is waiting for Carles Puyol to recover from his injury. He explained that his recovery was going well and that he was expected to resume regular training in September.

He went on to say that the spot was totally covered by players such as Puyol, Pique, Mascherano, Bartra, Adriano and Busquets.

Martino announced the line up for Sunday's game, his first as Barça's manager before an official game. Players such as Martin Montoya, Jonathan dos Santos and Sergi Robert will not be present for the league debut.
