What would you do if you realized there's no money in your bank account?

43-year-old James Patrick Andrews walked into a Bank of America branch in St. Petersburg, Florida. After using his ATM card in the bank, he saw there was no money in his account so he approached a teller to ask her why.

Andrews then passed a note to the same teller, demanding $1,000.

The bank worker listened to Andrews’ commands and handed over an unspecified amount of bills.

The suspect immediately left the building and hopped into a car driven by another male. Police officers found the car a short time later. It was being driven by a woman, whose three children were also in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The female claimed her boyfriend had used her car to give Andrews a ride to the bank. Police tracked Andrews and arrested him.

He was charged with strong-arm robbery and possession of crack cocaine. Andrews confessed to robbing the bank, citing a drug debt as an excuse. He confirmed the man who drove the car had no knowledge of the robbery.
