Josephine Baker by Lena Arnold -A PoeticTribute

Josephine Baker, by poet and author Lena Arnold, is a poetic tribute to the late American born dancer, actress, and singer. Whether beloved for her daring and talent, or vilified for her portrayal of blacks as savage and sexual; it cannot be denied that Ms. Baker is an iconic figure in world history. Most today would argue and agree that she made her choices in a time when their were very few opportunities for women and even less for black women; and that she used her opportunities to make the world a better place for her people and for the world in general. Regardless of how you may feel about her choices as an entertainer, she is worthy of respect for the life she led as a war hero, civil rights activist, women's rights activist, and mother.
