The Chandigarh Police today used water cannons and resorted to lathicharge to disperse agitated members of Rajput community who protested against the new TV serial 'Jodha Akbar' here today.
The protesters gathered in Sector 25 under the against of the Akhil Bhartita Kshatriya Sabha and shouted slogans against the makers of the serial which, they alleged, depicted their community in poor light. The historical facts had been twisted to insult the community, they added.
They demanded a ban on the telecast of the serial produced by the Ekta Kapoor of Balaji telefilms and being telecast on Zee TV.
