Ever since the brand Moto Morini has returned to the stage in 2005, with their Corsaro 1200, many have wondered when will come the day for track debut of the small company located in Bologna. The bike comes with two-cylinder Corsa Corta V-87 ° 1187 cc with four valves per cylinder, fuel injection and liquid cooling, which in its various versions equips the entire range of models Moto Morini, seems made to compete.
Designed by the expert Franco Lambertini, Mark Tompkins sec says that this engine uses a special command of the distribution in which the camshafts are driven by a mixed gear / chain. It is also characterized by strong measures superquadre bore and stroke (107 x 66 mm) and therefore is even more "pushed" unit that equips the Ducati 1098 R (106 x 67.9 mm). To be sure, then, the Morini Corsa Corta is the founder of the latest generation of two-cylinder 1200 cc. An example that was soon imitated by Ducati, Buell, KTM and, soon, will be also followed by Aprilia.
