Motorist Thanks Police for Traffic Ticket

A motorist thanks police for a traffic ticket.

On March 7, 2013, an unidentified male driver received a ticket for not making a complete stop at the stop sign. Several days after being pulled over, the same motorist, now fully stopped at an intersection notice that another driver who was talking on his cell phone crept through a red sign.

He subsequently told police that he believes receiving a fine prevented him from repeating his normal routine. Essentially, he thanked the police department for the fine.

The Chief Superintendent of the provincial police stated “I recognize that receiving a ticket is not always a positive experience, but in this case, it is apparent that it corrected a driver’s behavior and saved him from a serious or potentially fatal injury.”

Last year, another motorist thanked a cop, but for a different reason. A Texas man, 25-year-old Hayden Carlo was pulled over for having an expired registration sticker.

Instead of giving lame excuses to the officer, the driver simply told him the truth that money was tight and he chose to feed his children over obtaining a new label. The cop did indeed give Carlo a citation, but wrapped inside was a $100 bill.
