This is the fifth video teaching phrases by hard-bop guitar player Grant Green .This brief video lesson teaches a II-V-I phrase played by Green from the tune, "What is This Thing Called Love" off the album "The Complete Quartets with Sonny Clarke". As part of the Jazz Guitarist's Signature Series, each lesson in this collection explores the improvisational style of a prominent artist within the history of jazz guitar. This is done through a short transcribed riff, most likely repeated over a repeating harmonic cadence (eg. II-V-I).
