00:15 There was an old house situated in the property.
00:18 It was built in the '50s, I think, I believe.
00:21 It was a beautiful wooden house.
00:25 Unfortunately, the lower ground would get flooded sometimes
00:30 because [inaudible]
00:32 >> So you say that's what happens, right,
00:34 when the developing cities, the original road, it's no worse.
00:38 [ Foreign Language ]
00:40 But the rest of the houses, [inaudible]
00:42 >> So one of our partners fell in love also with the house
00:49 and we thought I think we can do something exciting
00:52 and something beautiful with the existing house.
00:56 We decided to the best thing to do was to break down the house,
01:02 build a new steel structure that was higher,
01:07 that's a lower ground, so safe from floods.
01:10 And then we reused all the wood and all the beautiful windows,
01:14 all the beautiful doors that we could
01:16 in the new project that we did.
01:21 So that was the main concept that we used
01:25 in reusing what we could and keeping the aesthetic
01:30 in the original house.
01:33 >> We made sure that the house would still reflect the original
01:39 aspects and also we tried to make it blend
01:44 with the existing houses beside.
01:47 We took inspiration from the wooden houses
01:50 that that line really soar.

01:59 So for the restaurant, for the upper ground, we tried to make it
02:04 as high as possible, ceiling height,
02:06 so that we could maximize the air flow
02:11 and have proper natural ventilation.
02:15 [ Foreign Language ]
02:21 >> Nobody wanted an air-conditioned space.
02:24 >> It was an unsafe place to be.
02:27 [ Foreign Language ]
02:29 So we tried to make it [inaudible] naturally ventilated
02:34 like that.
02:34 So we made sure that we had proper air flow,
02:39 cross ventilation, and [inaudible]
02:43 once you step into the place.
02:46 [ Foreign Language ]
02:48 >> And then this wall, the concept is, you remember
02:54 when you go visit your Lola's house or Lola's house,
02:58 you find a new wall like that with like little trinkets.
03:00 So that's the concept that we used.
03:03 When you come into the Lark, you're just going
03:07 to your grandparents' place with the music and the wood
03:10 and the decor.
03:13 [ Foreign Language ]
03:15 >> We wanted to stay in the rooms
03:18 because all the wood makes it really relaxing
03:21 and very cozy and homey.
03:22 >> And after that, there's the new balcony
03:25 at the top that overlooks the park.
03:28 [ Foreign Language ]
03:30 >> You can enjoy the plaza life.
03:34 >> Yeah.
03:34 >> You can have breakfast there or snack.
03:39 [ Foreign Language ]
03:41 [ Music ]
03:44 >> We just like simple, simple architecture that makes sense.
03:49 [ Foreign Language ]
03:51 >> But how you put it all together to make it look good.
04:01 And I think timeless architecture is simple,
04:07 simple architecture that is very sensible and practical.
04:12 >> We'd like to invite you guys to come and visit the Lark
04:18 and maybe have a meal, have coffee, have a few drinks,
04:22 maybe stay in one of our rooms.
