From watchmaker to brand owner

Galvin Watch Company is based in Sydney, Australia. It is a family owned business, managed by watchmaker Susan Galvin.
Growing up in Finnish Lapland has inspired her passion for the beauty of the natural world. Her heritage is intrinsic to the brand, combining Nordic minimalist design with the vividness of the landscapes in which she was raised.
My passion for design and mechanics started at an early age, culminating in my enrollment at Kelloseppäkoulu (The Finnish School of Watchmaking) in 2007. Whilst studying I made a bespoke mechanical watch which I gifted to my father. This process sparked my interest in watch design, fomenting a dream to establish my own watch brand.
After graduating from Kelloseppäkoulu (The Finnish School of Watchmaking), She gained her experience with Tag Heuer ad then with OMEGA.
In early 2020, after being made redundant, she established Galvin Watch Company and launched the well named "Alku collection" - "Alku" means "Beginning" in Finnish.

Alku is a contemporary mechanical watch with a delicate balance between vintage style Nordic minimalist twist. The kickstarter campaign was a massive success and got funded in 6 minutes.
Additional streches goals allowed Susan Galvin to propose 3 new colors (Peach, Blue and Green) to the 2 proposed (black and white).
